She saw him in his Army physical training getup and thought he looked like such a dork in his PT socks. Um..... those socks were not too big a deterrent as just LOOK at how in love these two cuties are!
Their first date was a road trip to Galveston Texas. All the friends in the group going with them bailed out at the last minute and not wanting to miss out on road trip fun they decided to go anyway!
Love bloomed, he asked, she said yes and just a few months ago they just celebrated two years of marital bliss! (Maybe those friends of theirs had a plan up their sleeves the whole time in bailing on the trip!) Just guess where they honeymooned??? You got it! Galveston!
When I met with this couple in Downtown Denver for their session I could just feel the love between them. It was electric, it was sweet and it was real. You see Guy (yep, coolest name huh?) Is serving in the United States Army, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fox Company 1-66 Armor. They are the "Iron Knights"
On the day I was with them Guy was leaving for Afghanistan for a years deployment just 3 days later.
See now why their love was on fire! They were so cute and Lacey... well she was just beaming with pride for her soldier. She was proud, a bit sad, anxious and most of all, she was glowing. You see that day Lacey (and Guy) held a secret between them. A precious little secret that will be making an appearance early in 2011. I'm not going to lie, there were tears shed by all during our time together.
Thank you Guy and Lacey for letting me hang out with you
for an evening and sharing your amazing secret with me!
I also want to thank you both for your service and sacrifice for us all.
May God bless you and keep you both safe and comforted while apart.
Thank you Becky Higgins for the chance to participate in the
BIG Photography Giveaway and meet this amazing couple.
Since this session, Guys company has suffered the loss of one of their men just this past week.
I'm sure they could all use our extra prayers, thoughts and support right now.
Please remember them.
Beautiful session, Darby...thoughts and prayers to his company. <3
